We absolutely love the Newberry Library so we wanted to do a Chicago venue write up on their elegant and beautiful Ruggles Hall event space! Our vintage style photo booth fits right in with the wood panelling and ornate lighting fixtures throughout this amazing hall. We used the long draping curtains as a backdrop for the black and white pictures which gave the photos a fun yet classic feel. This is a unique and historic venue for your special wedding day! Make sure to visit the Newberry Library Facility Rentals page to learn more.
Fotio Photo Booth Visits Chicago Union Station
The Chicago Union Station Great Hall is a truly breathtaking Chicago event space perfect for your large wedding or corporate gathering. The columns extend far into the space and the vaulted ceiling is just a magnificent site. Event company FROST Chicago did an amazing job lighting the venue while Blue Plate catered an elegant looking cold seafood "crab and shrimp" bar. We found an ornately detailed black metal grate to use in the photos. This really gave the photo booth pictures a classic and timeless feel which paired well with this historic Chicago venue. Fotio Fun at Moonlight Studios Event Space!
This was one of our favorite Chicago holiday parties of 2014. The rustic feel of Moonlight Studios paired with Fotio's vintage style fit in perfectly for this company's 1900s Bohemian themed extravaganza. We used the textured white brick as a photo backdrop which was illuminated by golden lighting from Sound Investment AV. The prop list included 6 top hats, 6 monocles, 2 baguettes, 3 berets, 3 orders of fake cigarettes, 1 toy violin, 1 toy guitar, 1 oversized picture frame and five 20-packs of fake mustaches. Redmoon Theatre provided two "bartenders on bikes" serving absinthe throughout the evening. Thanks to photographer Laura Fisher for sharing these great Fotio captures from the event!
Ryan's 14th Birthday "Bar Mitzvah" Photo Booth at Venue One Chicago
Ryan had the coolest Chicago birthday party ever! It was a Great Gatsby themed "Bar Mitzvah" extravaganza at Venue One in the West Loop. All of the guests really dressed the part with feathers, canes, hats, and anything Gatsby you can think of! This was a night to remember with flapper girls singing and dancing, custom lighting, Gatsby graphics from Venue One, a 45 minute black light dance party, a Slow Mo Booth, and a Fotio photo booth. The guests were great and took some real fun throwback black and white photos with Fotio. This was our first time working with a Slow Mo booth in Chicago but the dynamic couldn't have worked better. The Slow Mo booth took care of the crazy jumping, mouth moving, money throwing pictures while Fotio nailed the more serious and classic photos that guests would likely use for profile pictures, sharing online, and printing. Venue One is always surprising us with their unique lighting and customizable nature. The event staff there couldn't be more accommodating and nice to clients and vendors alike - we worked with Event Coordinator Karly Fabbri who was great! Untitled Chicago Whiskey Bar Speakeasy Photo Booth
It's hard to believe a place this wild even exists. Find the discrete entrance, descend deep below the streets of Chicago, and enter back in time to a supper club style/whiskey bar/burlesque show/speakeasy kind of experience. This magical event space is called Untitled Supper Club and it is located in River North Chicago at 111 W. Kinzie St. Chicago, IL 60654. This was not your typical corporate event holiday party. There was a piano/singer duet, cigarette ladies, string band, and of course two Fotio camera's setup for the 500+ guests at the party. Untiled is a massive and beautiful unique Chicago event space to rent out for your next holiday party, corporate gathering, or large party with a vintage and speakeasy twist. Thanks to our Fotio attendant Rachel Smith for taking these awesome snaps of the Whiskey Library at Untitled!
Fotio Fun at Lacuna Artist Lofts for Joe and Colette's Wedding!
It was cold night in Chicago but a very cozy scene was taking place inside the architecturally beautiful Lacuna Artist Loft Studios in the Pilsen Art District. Once a Macaroni factory, the 250,000 sq. ft. former factory boasts a grand wooden interior event space known as the Reverie Gallery. The creativity is alive at Lacuna with inspiring art, design, and architecture both inside and out. With the lights down low, the music playing, and the guests dancing, this former factory transforms itself into a magical and memorable Chicago event space for your special day. Feast of the Haggis Photo Booth at the Palmer House Chicago!
We had so much fun with the Chicago Scots at their 169th Feast of the Haggis! This annual banquet took place at the historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel in downtown Chicago. The event commemorates the Feast of Saint Andrew - Scotland's patron saint. Our vintage photo booth style fit in perfectly with the history and elegance of this classic venue. Miles Bar Mitzvah Photo Booth at Morgan Manufacturing - "Miles Underground"
Miles' Bar Mitzvah was a celebration fit for a king! There was no detail spared for this fabulous celebration located at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago's West Loop. Miles' family thought of everything including (but not limited to!) break dancers on roller skates, a hip DJ, a DIY waffle bar and of course a Fotio photo booth! When we heard they were going for a gastropub / underground / vintage boys club type of theme we knew Fotio would fit right in. They had a custom printed canvas backdrop with a sport crest and "Miles Underground" logo which we used in the photos. Everyone had tons of fun with the vintage props and we got some priceless Fotio captures of family and friends.
Morgan Manufacturing is seriously one of our new favorite event spaces in Chicago! We had the pleasure of working with Sara Barg who gave us a tour of this cool new Chicago venue. We were awestruck at how epic this place is! It seriously feels like you are entering a an alternate reality - like the Wizard of Oz. This grandiose 88,000 sq.ft former industrial warehouse is perfect for any occasion large or small. Thanks to our Fotio tech Rachel Smith for scoping this space out and taking these great pictures!
Fotio at the Chicago Half Acre Brewery Tap Room
If you are looking for a funky fresh party place for your next smallish corporate event in Chicago look no further! Half Acre is a truly unique and fun Chicago experience that pretty much guarantees you and your coworkers will have fun with each other! The Chicago craft beer is fantastic and the decor is thought provoking to say the least (just look at the crazy bear head with teeth/bones coming through the wall?). I talked with the manager Maurizio- he was a passionate and heartfelt individual who genuinely wanted everyone to have the time of their lives. He kept the beer flowing and took everyone on a brewery tour! The Tap Room takes private events on Mondays only - they specifically close their store and tap room for this reason. Make sure to contact Half Acre if you want to book a private event!
We found this amazing wooden wall to use as a backdrop for the photos. This looked stunning in black and white and really gave a tactile element to the photos. See how great the staff at Half Acre looked below!
Revolution Brewery Wedding at the Kedzie Tap Room
It's no secret that we love the Revolution Brewing Kedzie Tap Room! The aging barrels, over-sized American flag, and relaxed atmosphere make for a non-traditional and laid back wedding venue in Chicago's Logan Square. Everyone loves the fresh Chicago craft beer and they even take your guests on brewery tours during your reception! Needless to say our vintage photo booth style fits right in.
We normally opt to use the rustic wooden barrels as a backdrop but for this one the bride really wanted to transform the space. We worked with Chyrel from Lil Epic Event Design who created a custom flower wall for Fotio. This really drew a crowd and looked very cool in our photos.
Make sure to check out the full gallery of Fotio pictures at http://fotio.co/10-25-14-revolution. Thanks to our photographer/photo booth technician Rachel for taking all these incredible party snaps during the reception! If you are interested in renting out the Kedzie Tap Room for your wedding or event make sure to get in touch with Meg Rutledge from Revolution Brewery!
Late Night Wedding Snacks at the History Museum - Chicago Style!
If you are going to have late night wedding snacks - why not do it Chicago Style with delicious mini hot dogs? You know the all beef dogs with poppy seed buns and a mess of condiments/pickles/tomatoes/sport peppers. These small hot dogs are really quite perfect for a meat eating wedding since they are just enough to make you feel satisfied without rendering your dance skills useless! The bride and groom did it right at this one...
We loved how cool our view camera style fit in with this elegant Chicago venue! Jessie Pare from the museum was amazing to work with and even let us stop by the venue beforehand to take some test pictures. Make sure to check out the rest of the Fotio gallery at http://fotio.co/9-27-14-museum
Outdoor Fotio Photo Booth at the Chicago Field Museum
This was a fun challenge at the Chicago Field Museum! The client wanted us to photograph corporate guests against the Chicago skyline on the north steps of the Field Museum for some memorable open air photo booth pictures. We had to carefully balance the lighting with the setting sun to make sure the pictures looked awesome and had that Fotio charm we all love. The Field Museum is a beautiful venue and is perfect for those out of town guests in Chicago for a trade-show, conference, or other large gathering! View all the pictures from the event here.
Geoff and Sasha's Wedding Photo Booth at Café Brauer
A sneak peak into Sasha and Geoff's wedding at the beautiful Café Brauer in Lincoln Park. It was a wonderful afternoon and everyone was so full of love and joy! We had the pleasure of working with Jennie Fiala from Cafe Brauer along with Anthony Navarro from Liven It Up Events. They were both so nice and even included us in a venue walkthrough prior to the wedding date. Inside the reception space we used the colored ceramic tiles as a backdrop for the Fotio pictures which looked stunning in black and white. View the entire gallery at http://fotio.co/9-28-14-brauer
Brooke and Scott's Downtown Chicago Wedding at the JW Marriott
JW. Marriott 151 W. Adams was the location of last week's Fotio adventure. Brooke and Scott had a gorgeous wedding! The lovely historical Chicago building was a perfect fit for our vintage photo booth style. Chicago special events company Revel Decor lined the ballroom with elegant gold fabric (this is the same fabric we used for the photo booth backdrop which looks amazing in black and white). The photos turned out just beautiful and we felt so fortunate to capture the love and togetherness of this fun family!
Lillstreet Loft Wedding Photo Booth for Chris and Tristan!
We had so much fun celebrating with Chris and Tristan for their wedding this past weekend at Lillstreet Loft. When we first came to check out this Ravenswood Chicago wedding venue we immediately saw this cool painted mural and knew we had to make this work as a Fotio backdrop. See for yourself - the pictures turned out so coo! Check them all out at http://fotio.co/8-16-14
Fotio Photo Booth at Chicago Design Museum Opening
After two days of NeoCon at the Merchandise Mart plus the Guerrilla Truck Show in Fulton Market we attended the Chicago Design Museum's opening for "Starts/Speculations: Graphic Design in Chicago Past and Future." This was a perfect end to Chicago Design Week as everyone was celebrating the Chicago Design Museum's new permanent space on the 3rd Floor of Block 37 / 108 N. State St. right in downtown Chicago! Our old time looking camera got some serious love and we took some amazing pictures using the stark white wall as a backdrop. View our setup below and see how the evening progressed at http://fotio.co/6-13-14
Bridgeport Art Center Sculpture Garden Photo Booth
We absolutely love the new Bridgeport Art Center sculpture garden/1st floor gallery event space. It is a perfect Chicago wedding venue with a rustic and vintage feel. We covered a wedding there last night and used the pristine white wall as a backdrop for the photo booth pictures. Everyone went crazy for Fotio and we got 700+ shots of all the guests. Check out how cool Fotio looked in the space below and view the full gallery at www.fotio.co/6-7-14
Columbia College Chicago Manifest 2014 Street Festival Photo Booth
We had such a great time working with Columbia College for their annual Manifest Street Festival. The theme was "flight" so we custom made an air-brushed star-scape background and special ordered some aviator goggles and an astronaut helmet. Check out our setup below and view the full gallery at http://fotio.co/5-16-14
Fotio Photo Booth at Kitchen Chicago Wedding Venue
Today we stopped by Kitchen Chicago in the near west side to view the event space for an upcoming wedding. We took some test shots with Fotio to see what options we have for a backdrop. The venue is really very nice - it consists of one large room with a loft and lots of natural sunlight. This seems like a perfect wedding venue for a smaller Chicago wedding. We tested our photo booth on the loft using the glass blocks as a backdrop and also on the main floor with the white wall as a backdrop. Check out the photos below!
Revolution Brewing Photo Booth for C2E2 Galaxy Hero
Fotio photo booth made it out to the C2E2 Galaxy Hero IPA relaunch party last night at the Revolution Brewery Kedzie Tap Room. Revolution brews this IPA special just for the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo every year! We also got to meet some of the folks over at Dimo's Pizza in Wicker Park who made one mean slide of themed 'za with Flaming Hot Cheetos and Mountain Dew sauce. We were scared at first but after trying a slice we can't wait to go back for more during the week of C2E2! Check out some of the party photos we took below and view the full Fotio gallery at fotio.co/4-3-14
