We had the pleasure of working with this Chicago company for their annual corporate employee holiday party at the Union League Club of Chicago. The clients wanted a gatsby-esque vintage old-Chicago type of feel so Fotio fit in perfectly. We brought some vintage props like old time cameras, vintage hats, and an over-sized pipe for everyone to use!

Halloween: Fotio Costume Report

Halloween marks the time of year for change. The trees are changing and the leaves are falling. The warm air moves out and the cooler air moves in. We change our clocks back and gain an hour. Less daylight and more darkness. The new year is approaching. People of all ages love Halloween. For one night a year we can transform into our perfect heart's desire. Everyone gets to choose an alter ego or a super hero. We love the mystery and magic of the season. All year around we have the honor or dressing up people all the time. Sometimes people feel more comfortable wearing props so they don't have to pose as themselves on a regular Saturday. Fotio creates that magic and mystery we all crave. We have dug deep into the Fotio archive to share some our favorite Halloween inspired photo booth photos.

Vintage Circus Themed Wedding Photo Booth at A New Leaf Chicago Event Space

We had the pleasure of working with Chyrel Banias and her team from Lil Epic Event Design for this fun and vintage inspired circus wedding at A New Leaf Chicago. This is a unique and multilevel event space right across the street from Chicago's Lincoln Park located at 1818 N Wells St, Chicago, IL 60614. Spin-Spun cotton candy wedding vendor was onsite spinning delicious and fresh cotton candy and the event decor included a huge cupcake carousel and hand painted golden circus animal sculptures!

History in the making! Gay Marriage is here to stay, FINALLY!

This year we as a nation celebrate Gay Marriage. 2015 was a very special year for so many people in the United States. After the ruling, Fotio photo booth has had the honor of celebrating some of these first official gay marriage weddings here in Chicago. Illinois became the 16th state to legalize Same-Sex Marriage. Governor Patt Quinn signed the law November 20th, 2013 took effect on June 1, 2014. State by state courts were legalizing marriage. Finally some states were understanding that marriage is about love and commitment, not gender. On June 26th 2015 the U.S. Supreme Court ruling of same-sex marriage requires all states to issue marriage licenses to all same-sex couples and to recognizes gay marriages. To be free to legally start a marriage with the one you love. To think about all the people that were waiting to make it official, we celebrate them! Below we have shared some of our same-sex marriages that we have so honorably been a part of. Love is the number one ingredient to marriage.

Vintage Travel Themed Chicago Wedding Photo Booth at the Adler Planetarium

Fotio photo booth had the pleasure of working with these two wonderful brides for this travel themed wedding at the Adler Planetarium. We had an amazing set of vendors including Daniela Saporito with Lola Event Productions, Anna Ditton with Food For Thought Catering, Thomas Slack with Slack Photography, Alliance Bakery for the wedding cake, and finally Jeremy Scott with Sound Investment who helped with lighting and hanging the incredible vintage map backdrop which was hand picked by the brides themselves. They found it at Salvage One (one of our other favorite wedding venues!) and we tested it out ahead of time to make sure if would look amazing with Fotio. Thanks to our awesome Fotio technician Rachel Smith for taking these great pictures of our Fotio setup!

We had such a fun time at Galleria Marchetti for this company's annual corporate summer holiday party in Chicago. This clients wanted an outdoor open-air photo booth setup with Galleria Marchetti's beautiful grounds as the backdrop. We had the pleasure of working with Sarah Ryan the Director of Special Event Sales and Catering from Galleria Marchetti who was kind enough to meet us ahead of time to scope out this beautiful event space. Tara Cahill from Kapow events was the lead planner on this fun event!

Salvage One Wedding Photo Booth Rental for Ashish and Vidhi's Wedding

We love working at Salvage One Chicago - it's a fun and relaxed urban loft wedding venue with vintage style and charm. Our vintage camera photo booth fits in perfectly with the decor and essence of this magical space. There are so many possibilities for fun photo booth backdrops with Fotio!

This Chicago wedding was on the first floor among the vintage treasures and furniture which is all for sale (usually we are on the second floor setup for the reception). We used the "Mold Igloo" which is a kind of cool indoor gazebo structure surrounded by vintage molds of objects that were built in times past. Brandy Fischer, the event director at Salvage One, was super helpful and accommodating for our request to setup in this amazing part of the venue!

Adler Planetarium Wedding Photo Booth Rental

The Adler Planetarium is a memorable and elegant wedding venue located in downtown Chicago's Museum Campus. It is next to Lake Michigan and offers beautiful outdoor and indoor event rental options. The North Terrace and Sundial Plaza are a perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony or cocktail hour complete with breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline. Inside the Adler your wedding guests can roam the Clark Family Welcome Gallery with its futuristic architecture and fun colored lighting. The premier indoor event space at the Adler is Cafe Galileo's which has floor to ceiling windows and is perfectly sized for a large seated wedding reception.

Since this was our first time bringing a Fotio Photo Booth to the Adler Planetarium we made an appointment and met with Michelle Eastham from Food for Thought Catering to give us a tour of the venue. The reception for this wedding was taking place in Cafe Galileo's so we needed to figure out a Fotio backdrop (we can't photograph against windows because of the glare!). Luckily we were working with Chicago Wedding Planner Elisa Juster from The Simply Elegant Group along with Chicago event decor company Atmosphere Events Group (AEG) to help us figure this out! Victoria Claus from AEG supplied some fabric/tapestry backdrop options for us to test out with Fotio. We ended up using an ornate silver/gold pattern which fit in thematically with the sleek tented wedding feel. Centennial Reunion Photo Booth Rental for Chicago Community Trust Event

We had the pleasure of celebrating 100 years of service at the Centennial Reunion Event for the Chicago Community Trust. This event took place in the Union Station's Great Hall - a historic Chicago venue space perfect for such a grand occasion. With over 1,200 attendees we had two vintage photo booth stations setup on each side of the hall. We used the tall and magnificent columns as our Fotio backdrop. Fotio Photo Booth at a Chicago History Museum Wedding in Lincoln Park

The Chicago History Museum is a beautiful and elegant Chicago wedding venue located just south of Lincoln Park at 1601 N Clark St. This venue offers beautiful outdoor and indoor space that is uniquely Chicago with intricate chandeliers, large bright sunlit windows and fun Museum exhibits. The museum was also named one of the top wedding venues in America by the Knot magazine's hall of fame. We had the pleasure of working with Chicago wedding planner Emily Rodecker from Five Grain Events who helped us find a great spot for our Fotio setup in the History Museum's Chicago Room. Chicago's Best Vintage Style Loft Wedding Venues

There are so many amazing loft venues in Chicago we thought we should include a write up of some the favorites we have worked at in the past few weeks. On the South-side we absolutely love the Bridgeport Art Center Skyline Loft. The beautiful exposed brick and amazing views of the city really make this an engaging and romantic wedding venue for your special day. Here are a few pictures of a vintage inspired Chicago wedding we covered with Carlene Smith of Naturally Yours Events, Toast and Jam DJs, Rent Vintage Chicago, and Venue Logic. The Bridgeport Art Center is perfect for a large Chicago wedding. Plus they have an outdoor sculpture garden on the first floor if you want an outside element for your wedding ceremony or cocktail hour.

We also love the Lacuna Artist Lofts in Chicago's Pilsen District. The Reverie gallery makes for an artistic and restoration hardware type of non-traditional Chicago wedding venue. Your guests will love exploring the cool art and unique space all around. They also have a rooftop deck perfect for your outdoor wedding ceremony/cocktail hour. Lacuna Artist Lofts is also great for a very large Chicago wedding.

Another beautiful Chicago loft venue is Room 1520 located in the West Loop on Randolph St. This is a smaller to medium sized wedding venue with pristine white walls (which make for amazing up-lighting!) and a clean feel. The venue manager Celeste Campise is super accommodating and nice to work with.

We also love Gallery 1028 located in Chicago's Goose Island. The exposed brick and wooden beams give this venue a vintage lofty feel.

Located in Logan Square the Greenhouse Loft is another fun medium sized loft wedding venue close to downtown Chicago. We used the cool "you are beautiful" sign as the backdrop!

If you are looking on the north-side ARTango is another smaller sized loft space in Ravenswood with a rustic and vintage wedding feel.

Vintage Open Air Photo Booth Rental for Chicago Corporate Events and Conventions

Chicago is such an iconic city perfectly situated between America's coasts which makes it an ideal location for conventions, trade shows, and corporate meetings. This past year we have had all kinds of new and interesting businesses looking to use a Fotio photo booth to capture and impress event attendees at various events around Chicago. Most recently NeoCon was in town (the largest architecture and design expo which takes place at Merchandise Mart). We worked with Humanscale for their NeoCon after party at Moe's Cantina in River North. They wanted an open air photo booth which could capture guests posing on their elegantly designed Ballo stools. They also wanted the photos to be branded so we included a watermark on the online gallery so guests would remember who sponsored the fun photo booth!

Another recent event in town was the Microsoft Ingite 2015 Convention which took place at the McCormick Place Convention Center. We were hired to cover the photo booth for the Microsoft Surface party at Headquarters Beercade River North. HQ Beercade is a fun and interactive event space with all the wild and crazy video games and craft beer you can imagine. This is a perfect non-traditional corporate gathering space close to downtown Chicago!

Another Microsoft Ignite event we covered was for the Krewe Meet N Greet 2015 which took place at Kaiser Tiger. We used the ornate wall paper at the venue which looked amazing in the photos! Kaiser Tiger is a fun West Loop venue which specializes in bacon and beer.

We also had the opportunity to work with Dell & Intel for the HIMMS15 conference at McCormick Place. They wanted a corporate sponsored open-air photo booth with watermarks that would fit in with the festive Latin fusion decor at their West Loop event space Carnivale. Carnivale is beautifully decorated and extremely spacious - it's address is 702 W. Fulton Market.

Another HIMMS15 event we covered was for IMO which took place at the Chicago Club on 81 E. Van Buren St. The Clients wanted to use a step and repeat backdrop to brand the photo booth photos which turned out really well in black and white!

The Grove Redfield Estate is a beautiful outdoor/indoor wedding venue located in Glenview, IL (just north of Chicago). The Grove is part of the Glenview Park district and a national historic landmark as it was once the home of renowned horticulturist Dr. John Kennicott. We had the pleasure of working with so many amazing vendors for this annual charity event by Harley Helping Hands - a Chicago organization that positively impacts the lives of adults battling brain cancer. "Cocktail for a Cause" took place at the spacious and beautiful Chez Chicago event space located at 247 E Ontario St, Chicago, IL 60611. Brent Rolland from Fig Media Incorporated kept the party going with his great tunes and fun personality. Sound Investment provided the elegant up-lighting while Jewell Events Catering supplied the delicious food throughout the evening. Debi Lily with A Perfect Event brought in the spring Tulips and Fotio was of course snapping the fun and crazy pictures throughout the evening. Mars Gallery Chicago Wedding Photo Booth

Recently we had the pleasure of working with the lovely Barb Gadzik (the director of Mars Gallery) for Julie and Matt's Chicago wedding! Mars Gallery is situated in the heart of Chicago's Fulton Market above Jupiter Outpost Cafe and next to Chicago Party Animals. Mars Gallery has been a permanent fixture in the West Loop for 27 years and features art work by pop art icon/artist Peter Mars. Fotio Photo Booth at Le Colonial - Gold Coast Chicago

Fotio's vintage vibe fit in perfectly at Le Colonial - an upscale French-Vietnamese restaurant located in Chicago's Gold Coast. The upstairs private dining room is absolutely beautiful. They have balcony seating with a view of Rush street and plenty of plants and fun decor to really set the mood (and make you feel like you have gone back in time!). This was a Charity Gala benefiting the amazing Chicago Children's Museum. We had the pleasure of working with experiential event marketing agency - agencyEA. They helped us create a custom vinyl step and repeat backdrop to use for the photos. The Fotio booth was open for cocktail hour as guests entered the grand ballroom event space and then re-opened after dinner for post event dancing and photo booth fun!
